Been within a National Park, the waters and un-spoilt reefs are protected, making this a dream haven for divers and snorkelers who can experience the life of thousands of species of fish, mammals, and coral species. Inland lakes, tall palm trees and lush vegetation make a great home for a wide variety of bird species too.

The islands form a chain, except for the smallest inhabited island of Santa Carolina, which lies closer to mainland and to the west of the largest island of Bazaruto.
