Mocimboa de Praia, Mozambique
Mocimboa da Praia is a quiet and beautiful little village, situated North of Mozambique and is the last town to the Tanzania Border gate of Namoto - 130km away - which makes Mocimboa da Praia an ideal stop-off place for long distant travellers who are in need of a break.
Mocimboa da Praia lies beside the banks of a beautiful Estuary ... and everyday, the locals launch their dhows out on the Estuary to go do a hard days work of fishing - which is interesting to watch and spend your day relaxing.
Mocimboa da Praia has basic facilities and supplies for the traveller, including Accommodation, restaurants (prawns on the menu - going for only R20!), a little hospital, Petromoc fuel station (diesel only), a bank and an airstrip for people who would like to fly up.
