Casa Ray is a self catering resort of rustic houses positioned on the north bank of the Pomene estuary. It has fantastic panoramic views of the estuary and surrounds. It offers Mozambique tourists a range of accommodation options to suit all budgets.
The camps conform to two basic designs, either 3 bed-roomed reed and concrete fishing lodges or 5 barraca style camps situated right on the edge of the estuary water. Each camp is located such that it provides complete privacy for the guests, separate from any other camp.
All lodges offer freezers and fridges and gas stoves. The houses are fully furnished with kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. Bed linen, towels and mosquito nets are provided. Beach towels are not provided. The local community supply a range of products including seafoods, bait, fruit and vegetables in season, fresh bread, curios etc. Guests should bring their own consumables.
Pomene is an unspoilt paradise situated on the Mozambique coast half way between Vilanculos and Inhambane. It offers world class fishing and diving as well as miles of pristine beaches.

Layout: 4 Stand alone bungalows, Separate ablutions, central and kitchen area
Beds: Sleeps 8 Adults
Description: 4 X Rustic self-catering bungalows directly on the estuary. Fully equipped, inc bedding fridges, etc. Beautiful views, birds & awesome braai area. This is rustic beauty and simple living, built in traditional Baraka style with lots of airflow and lovely views.
Ilomba
Layout: Single unit with Four bedrooms, inside and outside bathrooms, lounge and kitchen. Outside has a storeroom, Lapa and braai area.
Beds: sleeps 8 (2 double beds and 4 single beds that can be pushed together)
Description: Situated at the Northern End of the Pomene Estuary, 20m away from the waters edge at high tide. There is everything you need in terms of a stove, deep freeze, cutlery, beds, mosquito nets etc to make this a piece of paradise.
Kingfish Cabin and Casa Baccalhau
Layout: Reed and Thatch houses situated up on a ridge on the North bank of the Pomene Estuary Sanctuary looking over the Indian Ocean.
Beds: Sleeps 6 people per house

Casa Oito
Layout: Single unit with three bedrooms, spacious bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, living area and kitchen. Outside is a storeroom and braai area.
Beds: sleeps 6 (2 double beds and 2 single beds that can be pushed together).
Description: Situated on the Ridge with wondrous views over the ocean and Pomene Estuary, 4 minutes walk down the slope to the estuary.
Casa Tary:
Layout: 5 separate luxury bedroom chalets (all en-suite), large general living area with fully equipped kitchen with smeg oven and gas weber, Lounge, dining room and covered patio meters from the waters edge. Solar powered with generator backup
Beds: Can accommodate 10-15 people.

Driftsands:
Layout: 4 rooms each with their own bathroom ( toilet, basin & shower)
Beds: 2 single beds in each room & space for extra mattresses if necessary.
Activities:
Fishing:
Fishing at Pomene is very good and offers easy access by boat from Casa Ray. On a receding spring tide at dawn or dusk, excellent surf fishing can be had at the mouth of the estuary. Pomene is one of the prime fishing venues on the Mozambique coast. Species frequently taken are King Mackerel, Queen Mackerel, Tuna (several species), Kingfish (several species) and Wahoo. Assist us to preserve Pomene as a world class angling venue by limiting your catch to what you can eat during your stay. Catch and release whenever possible.
Diving & Snorkeling:
Zambia South reef is a famous dive site as is Raapies Playstation off the point of the old hotel. Bring your own equipment or visit the dive centres in the vicinty. Snorkelers, don't miss the downed timber in the estuary where an impressive variety of reef dwellers can be seen. There is an accessible reef for snorkelling on the North Beach.
Kayaking:
Take a boat ride or kayak up the estuary into the mangroves. Dolphins are often seen inside the estuary as well as the rare dugong. Fishing from fishing skiis is also done in the estuary and a number of good sized fish have been caught here.
Mozambique:
A holiday to Mozambique means getting to know an authentic part of Africa which also has a strong Portuguese influence.It is a land which can mutate in just a few kilometres, from its white sands with the coral reef of the Indian Ocean, to its plateaus and mountains which almost reach 3000 metres, or to the legendary Rift Valley, the cradle of the human race, which lies in the center of the country. Here, the population is cheerful and hospitable. The territory is shared by colonial cities and villages made up of huts and mangrove forests, unspoilt archipelagos and great natural reserves.
Beach Walks:
There are lots of A frame beach breaks, rock and clay points along the coast at Pomene. The wave is fun and maneuverable, lots of dolphins in the water, beaches are deserted so great for exploring as well as awesome footage opportunities available. The water is ALWAYS warm so bring boards shorts.
Birding:
The broad range of habitats in the vicinity of the Ridge makes this an exciting (and hitherto unexplored) venue for birders.
