Pristine beaches, blue waters, great restaurants and nightlife - it doesn't get any better than this!

Welcome to Tofo Bay. Situated on the eastern coast of Barra's peninsula. Beautiful white beaches and turquoise blue waters, tourism in Tofo Bay has trended substantially over the years and the area now offers a wide range of accommodation and activities designed to suit everyone’s budget and taste.

Tofo Bay is ideally situated along the Manta Coast - a popular dive site region for all levels of diving experience.

Tofo Bay (also referred to as "Tofinho") offers accommodation ranging from budget to luxury dotted all along the beach. Tofo Bay is very popular for its nighlife. Delicious seafood, ice cold drinks and music can be enjoyed with friends at numerous restaurants and bars overlooking the beach.

The historical town of Inhambane (24km west) has the largest fleet of operational dhows. The bays calm waters attract the dhow boating community and it is a delight to watch these graceful boats sail gently by.

Tofo Bay’s beautiful coral reefs offer scuba divers many reefs to explore and the great blue ocean is a must for deep sea fishing enthusiasts who can expect excellent big game fishing! Common catches include giant trevally, kingfish, bonito, king & queen mackeral, springer and kawakawa. Sailfishing is popular between the months of April and August and marlin fishing between September and January.

Thousands of coconut palms thrive in this part of the Inhambane province where plenty of coconuts can be found scattered around. They make a delicious snack and if you ask kindly, staff at the lodges will crack open the coconuts for you to enjoy!

The locals are very friendly and every so often can be found selling fresh produce such as pau (Portuguese rolls), prawns and fish. If you use your bargaining skills well you can be sure to bag a great deal! The locals also sell paintings, arts and crafts and other various knick knacks so as well as supporting the local folk you have the opportunity to take something home as a special souvenir! Mozambicans love clothes and if you have unused clothes (especially board shorts), then remember to take them with you, they make for great bartering!
