Espangabera - Mount Selinda Border Post Crossing

The road from Chipinge (Zimbabwe) to Mount Selinda (border) is in poor condition with lots of potholes. The road is narrowly tarred and not quite wide enough for two vehicles to pass thus forcing drivers wide on the outside gravel edges. Do not drive this route or into Mozambique at night.

We suggest you go through this border using a 4x4. If you are planning to go south and cross the Save River in Massangena then you will need a 4x4 to cross - this can only be done during the dry season (July - August).

There is a fuel station in Espangabera.

Depending where you are travelling from in Zimbabwe, consider the Machipanda - Forbes Border (230km north of Espangabera). You can then travel along the EN6 past Manica and Chimoio and / or join the EN1 depending where your destination is. Please visit that page for more information.
